Gagan and Anjna Discuss about food
Gagan: Hi Anjna! How are you today?
Anjna: Hello Gagan! I’m doing really well. What about you?
Gagan: I’m good too. Actually, I was thinking about food recently because everyone seems to have different tastes and preferences. Food is such an important part of our daily lives.
Anjna: That’s absolutely true. People not only eat food to satisfy hunger, but also to enjoy flavours and spend quality time with family and friends. Personally, my favourite food keeps changing from time to time depending on my mood and cravings.
Gagan: Really? So what kind of food do you enjoy these days?
Anjna: These days, I’m really enjoying Indo-Chinese food. I especially love dishes like hakka noodles, Manchurian, spring rolls, chilli cheese, and fried rice. I think Indo-Chinese cuisine has a perfect balance of spicy, tangy, and savoury flavours, which makes it extremely delicious. I also enjoy eating it during outings with friends or family gatherings because it feels fun and satisfying.
Gagan: That sounds amazing. Indo-Chinese food is very popular nowadays, especially among young people. I also enjoy noodles and Manchurian occasionally because they are full of flavour. Did you enjoy the same kind of food when you were younger?
Anjna: Not really. When I was a child, I was mostly obsessed with fast food like pizzas, burgers, and French fries. I think many children naturally love such foods because they are tasty, colourful, and exciting to eat. Whenever my family planned a celebration or weekend outing, I would always ask for pizza or burgers.
Gagan: I think that’s common for most children. Fast food always feels exciting during childhood. Do you still enjoy those foods now?
Anjna: Yes, of course. I still eat them sometimes, especially during outings or parties. However, they are no longer my absolute favourites. As I grew older, my taste preferences started changing, and I became more interested in trying different cuisines and flavours.
Gagan: That’s interesting. I think our food choices naturally change as we grow up and experience different cultures and dishes.
Anjna: Exactly. In fact, there was a time when I was completely obsessed with South Indian food. I used to eat dosa almost every day because I found it light, crispy, and delicious. I also loved dishes like idli, sambhar, and vada because they felt healthy and comforting.
Gagan: South Indian food is really tasty and healthy at the same time. Dosa with sambhar and coconut chutney is one of my favourite combinations as well.
Anjna: Yes, and the best thing about South Indian food is that it feels less oily and easy to digest. That’s why many people prefer it for breakfast or light meals.
Gagan: Do your eating habits also change according to different seasons of the year?
Anjna: Yes, there are definitely some seasonal changes in my diet, although my staple meals mostly remain the same. I usually eat roti, rice, lentils, and vegetables regularly. However, the type of vegetables and dishes changes depending on the season.
Gagan: That makes sense. Seasonal food is usually fresher and healthier. What kind of food do you prefer during winter?
Anjna: During winter, I enjoy hot homemade meals more often. I eat vegetables like spinach, carrots, and mustard greens because they help keep the body warm and healthy. I also enjoy soups, tea, and freshly prepared traditional dishes during cold weather.
Gagan: Winter food always feels comforting and satisfying. What about during summer?
Anjna: During summer, I prefer lighter meals because heavy food makes me feel uncomfortable in hot weather. I eat more fruits, yogurt, fresh juices, and cold drinks to stay hydrated and refreshed. Watermelon, mangoes, and lemonade are some of my favourite summer choices.
Gagan: That sounds refreshing. I think seasonal eating is very important for maintaining good health and energy throughout the year.
Anjna: Absolutely. Food not only affects our physical health but also influences our mood and lifestyle. That’s why choosing balanced and healthy meals is so important.
Gagan: I completely agree with you. It was really nice discussing food habits and favourite dishes with you today.
Anjna: Same here, Gagan. Talking about food always makes conversations more enjoyable and interesting.
